Finantsinspektsioon held a joint seminar with the Securities and Exchange Commission

Finantsinspektsioon held a seminar on 8-12 April with experts from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that discussed the best practices in market oversight and securities enforcement, including investor protection and practical exercises, together with training on investigating market manipulation cases and fraud involving digital assets.

“Finantsinspektsioon has been working well with the SEC for a long time by now”, said Kilvar Kessler, a Chairman of the Finantsinspektsioon management board. “It is very useful for us to share best practice in supervising businesses that use new technologies. This seminar was one of the largest training exercises of recent years, and about half of the staff of Finantsinspektsioon took part in it”.

The mission of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is to protect investors; maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets; and facilitate capital formation.
